The Induction Heating Technology Behind New IQOS ILUMA Devices

The new IQOS ILUMA arrived in three different device models that use the new, breaktrough induction heating technology: IQOS ILUMA, IQOS ILUMA PRIME and IQOS ILUMA ONE. This innovative induction system for heating tobacco differs in that the heating element is no longer in the device, but in a specially designed tobacco stick.

The state-of-the-art technology in the new IQOS ILUMA devices brings a completely new experience of use and the taste of real tobacco, without residues in the device and therefore without the need for cleaning after use.

Do the new IQOS ILUMA devices use HeatControl technology?

Unlike previous IQOS devices, IQOS ILUMA does not use HeatControl technology. In earlier generations of IQOS devices, tobacco is heated using a heating blade onto which tobacco sticks are placed. IQOS ILUMA™ devices are used exclusively with specially designed tobacco sticks. Do not use IQOS ILUMA™ devices with tobacco sticks intended for previous IQOS generations, as this may damage your device.

Superior induction heating technology

Thanks to technological advances, IQOS ILUMA devices are more intuitive and effortless than previous IQOS devices. The new, innovative induction heating technology uses induction to heat the tobacco and therefore works without a heating blade, so there is no burning.
