How Does the Touchscreen Work on the New IQOS ILUMA i?

As shown in the image above, the touchscreen has a circular shape and is located directly on the holder. Designed for maximum intuitive use, it offers several functions while also indicating the device's current status.

The main information displayed on the screen includes:
  • Heating status
  • Remaining session time
  • Number of consecutive uses available before the next recharge
  • Icons for pause, battery status, and more

The screen works by responding to the user’s touch, similar to how smartwatches function. A simple tap activates one of the screen’s features.

For example, when the device is idle, it will show a ring-shaped circle indicating readiness. With just one touch, the screen lights up and displays several details, such as the current mode and battery status.

Another function that can be activated directly via touch is screen brightness adjustment. We don’t always enjoy high brightness, and in bright daylight, symbols might not be clearly visible—so with five quick consecutive taps, you can change the brightness level. This function, like many others, can also be managed via the upcoming IQOS app.

It’s important to note that the touchscreen is simple and easy to use because it only shows the information you need in the moment—without overwhelming you with confusing menus or endless navigation.

Activating Features and Monitoring via the Touchscreen

Although some IQOS ILUMA i features are not directly activated via touch, they are still displayed on the screen once enabled by other means—for example, through the upcoming IQOS app.

The Pause Mode is activated by swiping down on the screen, and to end the pause, you simply swipe up. The pause is available during the first three minutes or during eight consecutive uses. While active, a pause icon (II) will appear on the screen.

On the other hand, the FLEXBattery feature is activated through the IQOS app and, once enabled, it will immediately show up on the screen.

The touchscreen is intuitive, modern, and smart. It’s designed to meet the needs of today’s users while remaining simple and practical—offering the perfect blend of usability and experience.

The new IQOS ILUMA i devices, with their added functionalities like FLEXBattery, the pause option, and of course, the touchscreen, offer users a completely new experience and a glimpse into the evolving world of IQOS.
