This universal truth has been confirmed in history by a series of inspiring stories of women who change the world we live in, step by step. Examples of brave and successful women, with ingenious ideas to be heard. Women with strong influence in all spheres, know how to manage, innovate, construct. Women can do anything!
Today, women's success stories are an inspiration to the whole world and further emphasize the high social role of women in key positions, who lead entire countries, world organizations, private businesses, women who are at the same time pillars of society and the home.
But this was not always the case. The history of the world records periods during which the female voice was muted, unheard, disrespected and banned. Women were denied of their rights and freedoms, and equality with men was something that was only secretly dreamed of by a few. Therefore, women who in such periods fought for their voice, for their place in society and achieved the desired success deserve deep respect from all, especially from women.
Marija Sklodovska – Curie, the first and only woman to win a two-time Nobel Prize in two different scientific fields - physics and chemistry and the first woman to have a doctorate in France. In the field of science, it is absolutely necessary to mention the name of Rosalind Franklin, the woman who laid the foundations of DNA science and genetic engineering and because of whom today we know everything we know about our inherited traits. Here we have Rosa Perks, who, unlike Maria Curie and Rosalind Franklin, acts in the social world and as a civic activist manages to drive change. She is often called the "Mother of the Freedom Movement" because with her activism she manages to achieve rights for all African Americans. Mary Woolstonecraft will be remembered as one of the first feminists whose struggle is rooted in gender equality. We could not but mention Clara Zetkin and Rosa Luxemburg, without whom the fight for women's rights would not be the same, and today's holiday would probably not exist as it is.
The list does not end here. There are many women in history who in one way or another, in one or another segment, contributed and left their mark. JK Rowling, Audrey Hepburn, Malala Yousafzai, Frida Kahlo, Virginia Woolf, Queen Elizabeth and Princess Diana, Coco Chanel, Oprah Winfrey and ... YOU. Yes, all of you wonderful, successful, strong and brave women who read this text. You are on the list of women who are changing the world. Whether you’ll be a part of the history books or not, know that you change the world step by step, with each new morning, with each new completed goal, and with each new success.
Walk boldly through life and do not forget that you are the change.
Happy Women’s Day.
